Is your central heating all 'sludged up'? Do you have cold spots in your radiator? Do you hear a clunking and banging noise from your radiator? Do you get different temperatures in your radiators?
If YES!! You've come to the right place.
What is a power flush and why do central heating systems need power flushing?
The water in a central heating system is always pumped in the same direction, which causes iron filings, sludge, oil and grease to build up in each radiator. This has a detrimental effect on the efficiency of both your radiators and your boiler - in fact - your whole central heating system, reducing its life expectancy. When a system is professionally power flushed, the system is cleaned from different directions, agitating the sludge and debris, so the system can be drained of the deposits. When flushing a system, special chemicals are used to ensure the breakdown of the sludge inside the system, prior to the deposits being removed.
In simple, a power flush is a process that gives your central heating system a thorough internal clean. It will improve your radiators performance and extend your boiler lifespan. Most importantly it will reduce your fuel bill to save money!
Did you know that for every new boiler installed, you need a power flush to validate your boiler warranty.
![]() What is a magnaclean? The magnaclean is a professional, high efficiency full flow magnetic filter designed to tackle all central heating systems, removing virtually 100% of all black iron oxide (sludge), the magnaclean filter is widely regarded as the very best form of long term prevention from sludge. The magnaclean far out performed any other filter on the market when tested as part of an independant experiment. Please don't hesitate to contact us for more information. |
What is a magnacleanse?
A single power-flush will remove an average of 3 kg of sludge and other deposits from an ageing heating system. Where the system has incorrectly arranged cold feed and vent pipes, or where no inhibitor has previously been added, anything up to 7 kg of sludge can be removed. In one case, more than 6 kg of wet sludge was removed from a seven-radiator open-vented system. Produced by the manufacturers of the award winning MagnaClean® Professional filter, the MagnaCleanse RapidFlush Filter has five times the capacity and is designed to remove virtually all suspended iron oxide particles and debris in one pass. What enters the filter is retained and prevented from re-circulating. The robust filter consists of a unique swirl chamber, in the centre of which sits a powerful magnetic core. The contaminated water returning from the system during a power-flush is forced around and along the length of the magnet where any oxide particles are exposed to the powerful magnetic field. Particles are drawn towards the core and prevented from circulating back into the system. This continues until a saturation level is reached at which point no more build-up is possible. Crucially, this saturation point is achieved before the unit is full, allowing full and free circulation of the system at all times – unlike typical Y-strainer filters which clog up and experience a dramatic reduction in flow performance. The MagnaCleanse RapidFlush Filter has two chambers in series, each with a 300 mm magnet. This ensures that all returning water is exposed to a powerful 600 mm of continuous magnetic field. Once a gas central heating system has undergone a professional power flush, FERNOX INHIBITOR chemicals are added to the water in the system to prevent further corrosion and to ensure your system runs more efficiently.
